The Hague, May 28, 2025 – Women’s Initiatives for Gender Justice joined over 80 organisations in a unified global call to action under the banner: “In Solidarity We Resist: Our Fight, Our Right!”

This year’s May28 campaign highlights the urgency of collective resistance in the face of intensifying global attacks on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).

These attacks—through criminalisation, legal rollbacks, disinformation and the shrinking of civic space—are not isolated incidents. They reflect a coordinated, regressive agenda that seeks to undermine bodily autonomy and silence rights-based advocacy.

Everyone should have the right to bodily autonomy and equitable access to inclusive, stigma-free care.

We call on governments and institutions to uphold their obligations under international human rights law, ensure the decriminalisation of abortion, protect civic and digital spaces, and invest in health systems that serve all communities.
