New Strategic Accountability Project
In 2017, the Women’s Initiatives for Gender Justice is launching a new strategic accountability project in South Kivu, eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, to support greater accountability for conflict-related sexual and gender-based crimes. The primary focus is on consultations, training, mentoring and follow-up involving key actors in the justice process – police, prosecutors and judges – in four pre-selected military and civil courts associated with territories where there is ongoing conflict and high prevalence of conflict-related sexual violence.

A report on the consultations will be published in May 2017.
