WIGJ Board Member Launches Legal Challenge against Trump ICC Sanctions
We commend our board member Akila Radhakrishnan for challenging the Trump administration’s executive order imposing sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC).
As a co-plaintiff in the lawsuit filed by the ACLU, Akila argues that Trump’s order violated the First Amendment by prohibiting the plaintiffs’ constitutionally protected rights to share information with the ICC’s chief prosecutor and his staff.
Akila’s advocacy embodies transformative feminist principles and has long focused on amplifying survivor voices and centering gender justice in international criminal law.
We stand in full solidarity with her efforts.
