On 23 September 2019, Women’s Initiatives for Gender Justice joined other members of the Coalition for the International Criminal Court (CICC) in sending a letter to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, asking for the immediate ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) by his government. 

The letter welcomes the entry into force of the amendment to Article 124 of the Constitution of Ukraine recognising ICC’s jurisdiction on 30 June 2019 and asks the Ukrainian government to put accountability for grave international crimes at the forefront of its agenda.
