On 2 December 2020, Women’s Initiatives for Gender Justice joined seventeen other NGOs in calling on States Parties to the Rome Statute to ensure a fair, transparent, and merit-based election process of the next Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court. 

The open letter followed a decision of the Bureau of the Assembly of States Parties to expand the list of candidates under consideration and to extend the nomination period until 13 December 2020.
