Statement on The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

In Uncategorized by Admin

The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women is a powerful reminder of the need to eradicate all forms of sexual and gender-based violence and holding those who perpetrate such crimes accountable. Violence against women is recognised as the most widespread human rights violation in the world. One in three women will experience sexual or physical violence in her lifetime.

Impunity for sexual and gender-based violence largely prevails. This International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Women’s Initiatives for Gender Justice joins thousands of activists around the world for ‘Orange the World’, 16 days of activism to call to attention the need to prevent all forms of violence against women.
