The Women Human Rights Defenders International Coalition (WHRD-IC) is a transnational, intersectional feminist coalition bringing together women human rights defenders, feminists, trans and non-binary activists, organisations, and allies.

The coalition works to strengthen collective protection, solidarity, and advocacy for women human rights defenders worldwide. Members collaborate to develop shared strategies, exchange information, mobilise across movements, and respond collectively to threats facing defenders and feminist activists.

Women’s Initiatives for Gender Justice has been a member of the coalition since its inception. Through the WHRD-IC, we collaborate with partners across regions to support coordinated advocacy, strengthen feminist networks, and contribute to collective responses when defenders face risk or repression.
