The President will also consider the important role of States Parties in providing support to the ICC, a theme which will be continued on the second day of the Symposium when Ambassador Intelmann will moderate a panel of Ambassadors who will be discussing the role of international courts and tribunals within the global system of security, justice and peace.

Panels will bring together some of the leading practitioners in this field including Gabrielle McIntyre, Petra Kneuer, Michelle Jarvis, Kristin Kalla, Maxine Marcus, Bob Reid, Xabier Agirre Aranburu,Erin Gallagher, Gloria Atiba-Davies and Paolina Massidda.

Other well known presenters include Justice Unity Dow, Botswana’s first female high court Judge; Justice Shireen Avis Fisher, President of the Special Court for Sierra Leone (SCSL); Justice Teresa Doherty, Trial Judge at the SCSL; and Anne Marie Goetz, Chief Advisor, Peace and Security at UN Women.
