Presentation to the ICC on institutional accountability

In Statements by Admin

On 20 September 2016, Brigid Inder, OBE, Executive Director of the Women’s Initiatives for Gender Justice, provided a presentation to the ICC’s Committee on Budget and Finance. In her speech she highlighted issues of gender and geographical representation and the lack of progress and regression in some areas of the Court on these issues. The presentation also included three proposals to strengthen the architecture of institutional accountability within the ICC, including: the creation of an Integrity Advisory Board; the establishment of three compliance officer positions within each organ of the Court; and the need to strengthen the actual or perceived independence and impartiality of the Independent Oversight Mechanism (IOM).
